Bulldogs SC
Social Media Intern Program
Below is a general outline of the Social Media Intern program.
- We have players from 3-18 year olds in our youth soccer programs with up to 300 players registered for each season. Our year runs parallel to the school calendar year. We start in the fall, then we take a winter break, & then our spring is our ending. For each of those seasons, players register to play. Each season consist of 10 weeks (matches) per season.
- Ideally we would like to have 2 high school students for this program in September & get them familiar with BSC & our goals. We would like to have those same students that were chosen for the entire school year.
- Our matches are on Sunday mornings. This is when we would like our social media interns out there to take pictures or videos to use for BSC social media platforms. During the week, we have practice sessions on Tuesday & Thursdays. We can work out plans during the practice sessions for our Sunday’s schedule.
- We will have BSC t-shirts specifically for our HS Social Media team, so that anyone at our fields can identify them. Especially our younger players who might want to be in a picture. We want to create a fun environment & nature to our HS social media coordinators.
- Students to gain access & experience with non-profit organization ran by volunteers on how to use social media to reach the general public.
- Students to learn how to work with others members, coaches, parents, players, & general public at the fields while taking pictures & helping promote the soccer program.
- Students are not to direct message anyone through our social media platforms. BSC will handle all private messages.
- Students will have access to BSC social media platforms, all ideas for any postings & postings must be cleared with either Ricardo Fontanilla (Social Media/website Director) or another member of the BSC. BSC will supervise all activity.
- We will encourage the students to be extremely creative & want to positively nudge them to think outside the box & present their ideas at all times. This will help them learn the process & to learn how sometimes not all ideas get to move forward & some just need to go back for adjustments.
- Students will have deadlines on projects & sometimes items will need to be done on the spot.
- Students will need to have their own PC or laptop to work on projects at home.
- Students will need to be able to use their smart phone for taking pictures & videos. The smart phone can also be used to post items to social media platforms. As is with this field, mostly everything is done from a smartphone. I know this may be an issue for parents & data usage, but students will be instructed to upload when they are at home on Wi-Fi or any location with Wi-Fi. We will always make sure to respect data usage & the parent’s bill is always on our mind.
- If students have their own digital camera they prefer to use or want to take footage for their own portfolio that is more than welcomed.
- BSC will provide a camera for the students to use that will be located at soccer field for them to use.
- BSC would like to introduce the students chosen for this program on our social media platforms.
- BSC will proudly provide the interns with references for future opportunities, volunteer hours, or can be used for the student’s college portfolio.
